Hello everyone!  I recently picked up a 24c1 on eBay on a whim.  Once it arrived, I found it needed all new rubber grommets and bushings, plus a cord, but the rest seemed ok.  I've torn everything apart and cleaned it up and started the reassembly process.

Yesterday I pressed the motor case halves back together and tried to oil it using the ports.  The front one is fine, but the rear refused to accept oil, appearing clogged.  I looked closer, and just below the outer rim, the tube is pressed together to form a very thin slit, which causes the oil to get stuck at the top and not drain through. 

My question is - what's going on with the port tube?  Did it originally sit above the motor case and flare out, similar to the front one, but someone squashed it down?  If that's the problem, I should be able to get it out and either re-form and press it back in or replace it with some other small tube.

Here's another picture, showing a close-up of the port.  The shiny line in the middle is a reflection from oil in the thin gap.

I would not be too concerned with the tube mashed.  Chances are oil will get down to the bearing.
Front bearings always require more oil than back bearings.  I would fill the back tube and run the fan for an
hour (to warm it up) then let it cool down and look to see if the oil made it down.
