And they used an early version instead of a later stamped version.

Is this a joke??? I heard about a guy who was buying fans and altering them to make lights like this one. I see his stuff on eBay. Not my cup of tea at all and I take it that I am not alone in that position judging from the comments above. Is there a market for this type of thing? Tsk what a shame...

Yeah, if this guy walked into a fan meet with this thing, I'm not sure his safety could be guaranteed.

This is just a nasty thing to do to the little ones. It's like child abuse....

Cheers,
Bill

Oh c'mon.....That's probably one of the best looking and operating Emersons I've seen....Now it can be used as a lamp instead of a boat anchor, door stop, or wheel chock...

Just blast all the disgusting old paint of and make a useless unfinished looking fan, and ruin the badge too... classy

'You should change the part of the listing description that states, "master craftsman", to simply, "person with a bucket of paint and a vision problem".'

Should I send it?

My message to the seller:

New message to: governor11
These fans would be valuable if they weren't "repurposed". Did you save the parts, they can probably be saved. You may be interested in what the antique fan collecting community thinks about this:

Tom, I hate to break it to ya, but your link you posted goes to a Westinghouse LivelyAire, not an Emerson Jr.
