I have a Type 65 with a shattered pot metal neck. I was thinking I could make a new one out of some 1"x2" 6061 T6511 aluminum. Wouldn't be a perfect reproduction, I would not put all the little holes for the tilt, but it would be functional, as I strive for all of my fans to be. Heat treated aluminum should be stronger than pot metal, I'm guessing?

Could you measure the part that connects to  the oscillator arm, and tell me how it connects to the neck? I visited with my machinist friend tonight, we can make this, but need more details. I will make more than one if anyone else needs one. We'll make as many as poeple want.

I have a bunch of people to get back to, I got sidetracked, sorry. I'll pull it back out this weekend and disassemble.

I don't think this setup is perfect original, but it should be easier yo make, it was how my fan was when I got it. The oscillator connection is a separate piece screwed into the neck. Here's a rough measurements rounded off a bit. Won't matter a few thousands here and there.
