Hello, I am in need of a switch assembly for a 1955 Emerson 79646 SD Oscillating Table Fan that has a shaded Pole Motor in it (2 wire headwire) as I just recently was given a 79646 SD fan that the original switch assembly was gutted out of the base of the fan and the fan motor was then directly wired through the headwire to a 3-pronged cord to make it "commercial compliant" wiring wise as the fan was in a factory originally in one of their offices. It seems their maintenance department decided to wire the fan with a grounded cord to make it compliant with commercial wiring standards but instead of utilizing the switch they gutted the switch out and wired the fan to be "plug and play" only (plug it in to power it on, unplug the fan to turn it off). If anyone here has a speed switch assembly for this particular fan floating around in their parts bin that they would be willing to sell me or just send me for the price of shipping, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Levi Last edited on Mon Dec 17th, 2018 03:43 am by Levi Mevis |

Yes I have a picture of the fan, when I got the fan, the original switch assembly was gone and the orginal owners of the fan wired a 16 guage 3 conductor cord (hot, neutral and ground) directly to the fan's motor through the headwire which is a two conductor headwire (no capacitor originally as its a 4 pole shaded pole motor). pictures of the fan posted below. ![]() ![]() hopefully these pictures will help.

I might be interested in the fan. I used to have a 77648 before but it was in rough shape and I couldn't do much with it so I traded it for a 12" Hunter from the same time period. Your fan appears to be in good shape yet just dirty.Let me know what you want for it.
