Just picked up this motor and was wondering what time frame this thing comes from and what might have been installed to the wires coming out of the rear of the motor. The motor came from a workshop in the basement of the closed and torn down Jumer's Hotel in Bettendorf, IA. Supposedly it was belted to a key cutting machine, which was probably a pretty busy operation at a big hotel during the time before key cards! I don't usually tinker with utility motors, but for the price, I figured I needed this one...
Here's the front of the motor, I dug out dried up wicking from the bore above the shaft...

Back of motor, looks like the wiring came in here and was pretty unceremoniously disconnected...

Here's the data plate, maybe this gives clues as to age??

And here's a detail shot of the wiring, looks like three or four wires coming out, must have been enclosed in something and maybe had a switch?
