Does anyone have, or have a good source for, an original metal fan blade for a 10 inch Westinghouse Lively Aire? The one I have
Plastic. It is the original fan blade but I do not want any plastic parts
On my fan. I have seen lots of photos of these fans with metal blades,
Which I am assuming were on older models.

Yes, I believe the LivelyAire switched over to plastic fan blades early to mid '50s.  I restored a late '40s for a friend, ended up painting it as close to original as possible, leaving the aluminum fins clear.  Very nice look.  I will say that taking these apart isn't too hard, putting them back together the first few times can be.  Particularly getting the cage hooked back right without messing up a new paint job.  As far as substituting an older blade, i don't know if any of the dimensions changed from the metal to the plastic but the older 40s come up with some frequency.  Might have to go with a parts fan to get a blade if that's what you want.  Would think you could pick up a non-running one with a good blade for $20 or less.  What about just restoring one that came with a metal blade to begin with?

Hi Dave. Thank you for the reply. I just may keep the fan blade as is and the fans
Original finish as it's still in good condition. This is my first fan and am learning
a lot. Do need to rewind the stator as it appears to be dead. I might just stick
with getting this fan running and find another in bad shape for a full restoration.

Besides Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace, is there a good source for
Finding these old fans?

Also, Is there a good source on the history of the Lively Aire, the years of
it's manufacture, differences in fans over the years such as metal blades
and plastic blades, etc?
