Not sure why this fragile fan was shipped whole in a single weight box with stuffing of sorts (bubble wrap & foam is best). It hurts to see a nice 1923 fan in chunks.Prefer not to start the whole return/negative feedback thing. It has some value as parts only.Another one bites the dust.Always remove cage & blade, motor from base.Weak point as seen in break.I just got another one damaged that I managed to repair, but this is shot.It was rolling around when I picked the box up -knew it was broken before opening up.

seller sent a snarky response  = =
" no need for threats, etc. It is insured" Box sat on a nighbor's porch in the rain for a day or 2 - - (welcome to the sticks)single weight used box NOT a shipping carton, filled with soft polyester batting  -like from a sleeping bag
can that be fixed at all?

Sorry, I didn’t offer a link: https://www.muggyweld.com/product/super-alloy-1/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwsZ3kBRCnARIsAIuAV_TZvhCNqYHpVgMcCp6LpCBI1A-UIpUupyqu9kDisVYQsPCl6x9CNDcaAqF6EALw_wcB

I’ve never personally used this stuff, but my understanding is it works about the same as sweating a copper pipe (emphasis on “about”). I’ve known it to be used it to fix trim parts on old cars. The advantages are best explained in the link. Little pricey, but it’ll probably pay for itself if you use it twice.

I stopped buying off of eBay for this reason. I'm sorry this happened to you Steven, it's no picnic.

Yeah, had the same thing happen to me about a week ago. 20 lb fan shipped in a small box with a few air packets... They all broke and I'm lucky the cast iron wasn't broken.

It can be repaired but considering you need to attach a headwire would be better off just replacing the housing.

Honestly considering how much you gave and the sellers responsibility to deliver you should just open a case and return to seller for a full refund.

I get a full refund plus keep the fan. Waiting on shipper to chime in - - they left on a neighbor's porch in rain for 2 days.

Best possible outcome considering the circumstances.
