Here is a pretty much new old stock box fan from the 60s. I cant recall ever seeing one of these with a reverse motor.

I have a fan just like that, except mine is a 3 speed non-reverseable model and mine is an extremely effective but loud fan and it has a spindown time of about 75 seconds!  :D  :shock:

I DONT THINK THE KNOB IS ORIGINAL, IT LOOKS LIKE EN ELECTRONIC ITEM KNOW, BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THE SCRATCH NEXT TO IT. I WOULD SAY THEY SHUT THE FAN IN THE WINDOW WITH THE SASH ON TOP AND IT IS EASY TO BREAK THE KNOB. i WOULDNT CARE I WOULD STILL LOVE THAT FAN......
