|This Emerson 6250 was my latest project:
These always tend to look better in pictures for some reason, but these are before shots and it was in worse shape than it looks. I decided to take a little artistic liberty with this one since I planned on stripping it down and repainting. Plus, I have some black-on-black fans waiting in the wings, so something different was in order, and I wanted to try my hand at a couple new techniques. Mind you, this is nothing fancy or as artistic as some of the beauties I’ve seen on this site, but I’m pretty happy with my outcome:
You might’ve guessed I experimented with the stenciling and pinstriping. I’m quite happy with the pinstriping, but the stenciling I need some more work on, although, I will rarely use it. This fan I had a particular need for it.
As usual, I always find so much useful information in this forum. It’s amazing the stuff I can find just searching keywords! The pinstriping was fairly easy using finessepinstriping.com products which I found in a past post. I was impressed with some of the images I saw but figured it was best I kept it simple my first go-round. Special thanks to Doug Schloemer for his badge decal work (he sent a perfect decal, I screwed it up a little applying it) and Jim Chestnut who offered to help with broken oscillator gear.
I’m having too much fun! Can’t wait to start on the next one.
