Friends, I will be bringing four fans with me to sell at the North Jersey Breezin' fan meet:
A Westinghouse tank ($500):

a Westinghouse Vane ($1,000):

A 1906 12 inch GE Pancake ($750):

and my 16 inch GE two bearing "big ugly" ($800):

The tank and the vane have much of their original japanning though the bases have been re-japanned (due to paint loss) by the master craftsman, Rick Powell. The vane oscillates flawlessly with no vibration. The tank runs smoothly at both speeds.

The two cakes run well though the 16 inch vibrates some at the high speed (like being behind an everglades boat). All five speeds work nicely on both cakes.

Hope to see you there. I'll be there on Friday with the above fans.

David,What beautiful fans.  I bet you restored all four of them.  Sure wish I could attend the meeting and have a chance to meet you and see all these fans.  Have a safe trip.

Thanks Rusty. Yes I did indeed restore all four but it was a team effort in most cases. I have been toying with the idea of buying my own buffing wheel to do the brass myself but then I dismiss the idea because a 3400 rpm spinning wheel is dangerous especially with cages which could easily cause tremendous harm. So I leave that to my good friend Ron Bethoney of New England Brass Refinishing in Brockton, MA. Rick Powell has been very kind to me and his japanning is unrivaled. Darryl Hudson provided the grommets and other parts for most of my fans so you see it is truly a group effort to bring these fans back to life. It will never be a money making opportunity for me as my out of pocket costs usually exceed what I might be able to sell these for. But the pleasure in seeing these treasures come back to life is priceless. I've given away about 40 or 50 fans to friends and family so that they may enjoy them also - priceless!

Lane tells me that I should bring the fans over on Friday and plan on coming the next day. What's a good time to bring the fans over on Friday?

I'll plan on dropping the fans off at about 4:30 on Friday afternoon. I should also mention that I am open to SWAPPING any of my fans that are for sale if you have a fan from my wish list. My wish list includes, a Jandus C-frame, a GE Sidewinder, a Victor Lollipop or any GE Pancake from the period prior to 1900. I'll bring my checkbook too if you want to make some kind of deal that involves a SWAP and cash if you have any of the fans on my wish list.
