Hey guys, I but this 12" Peerless 460626 back together. It starts right up and runs fine on 3 distinct speeds but after a few minutes Both the stator coils and switch coil get very hot! To the point where I have to turn it off.
The 3 stator wires are connected on the right terminals but the wires could be switched. Does anyone have a schematic for it?
My stator coils measure: A-B 21ohms, A-C 13.5 ohms and B-C 34 ohms(not connected to anything)
High runs @ 3.4 amps, Medium @ 2.1 amps and Low @ 1.7amps.
I measure no shorts on the switch coil.
Can anyone tell me what my problem might be?

Vic, to me that seems like at least 2 amps higher on high than it should be.

Hey Vic. That is way to high amps and heat. I have a 16 “ and it runs warm and fast but not hot.
From your readings there your common wire is A and B is the start then C is the main tap.

If I remember right this switch is pos 1 = high so that’s where the start is wired in (B). Then alternate the A and C taps between line in and alt coil tap. You should be under an amp.

Good luck bud:up:

Good call Lucas, I switched the 2 wires and bingo! Runs cool with no problems! I can breath again. Thanks so much!
