I have a late production 27666 needing a steel cage.  I’d like to find one in good shape with no breaks, missing wire, or wonky dents. It’s fine if it needs paint - just so long as it’s all there.  It’d be great if it has the two-blade Emerson badge still intact, but not necessary.  Please PM me with what you have, and thanks for looking.

All Emerson 27xxx had brass blades and the first steel blade Emerson 12 or 16" model was in 1931, the 29xxx models.   Maybe your fan has a later cage on it?
Well, I screwed up and somehow was thinking BLADE, not cage.   Power just came back on from 3 days off and my brain power was greatly diminished I guess.

Are you talking about the blades, or the cage?   I have a brass-bladed 27666 needing a steel cage - as I understand it, the brass cages largely went away around 1916, several years prior?

Todd, a steel cage would be correct for your fan.  Brass cages were last used on the 24xxx series emersons

Would that be the "Built To Last" badge or earlier "double prop" version?

The earlier double prop version, yes. The Built to Last emblem came along around 1926.

That is my favorite badge design, as my avatar shows, I will look for one in steel

Bump. Anyone have such a cage they’d be willing to part with for a fair price? Thanks.
