Howdy, y'all. I'm on the east coast for work, and found a local wanting to part with his 6 blade GE. It's a 76363 model, form S6, and works on all three speeds. It looks to have been repainted, and the ol' boy's looking to get $200 out of it, which I suspect is a smidge more than it's worth. Given my inexperience with thee six-bladers, though, I could be wrong.
Anyone who knows me at all will recognize that I'm an AWFUL negotiator. While in Singapore a few years ago, I tried to haggle a merchant down by a few bucks on a cheap portable video camera and ended up paying MORE than the guy was originally asking. With that in mind, I thought I'd turn to the group here to see whether or not anyone had a six blade GE that they're looking to part with for around the same price. Obviously, brass hardware would be preferable, though not required.
Unless the fan is located in the Charlotte, New York City, Burlington (Vermont), or the Los Angeles area (my job sites for the next few weeks), I'll need to have it shipped, which I know is an additional $50-$75. I figure that I'm more likely to get a decent fan from a fellow member, pay a more reasonable price, and build more relationships if I do my shopping here.
If nobody's keen to part with their fan, I figure I can always finalize the deal on Thursday night before I fly back home, stuff the disassembled pieces in my spare bag, and take the whole thing home.
Please let me know whether anyone's interested in thinning their herd.
