Suzanne, Steve Stirlings wife contacted me last night and let me know that he is hospitalized in Mobile, AL.  He sustained a brain bleed and a "small stroke".  He is heavily sedated for now, according to his wife.  Keep Steve in your thoughts....a great guy.

Kevin called me at work today and gave me the news about Steve. Sad news. Steve is a great guy and he was at our wedding. Prayers from Kevin & I that he pulls through this! He has some vacuuming to do at Will's meet. ;-)

This past weekend at the Mardi Gras meet, Kevin & I found out from Will where Steve was. Turns out, he is in Lafayette. I called Sunday morning to verify that he was there and we went by to see him.

He was hunting in Alabama with friends and starting having seizures early morning....he had suffered a small stroke. He was taken to the hospital in Mobile and was there for 4 weeks. They were able to go in and seal off the aneurysm which caused a second stroke.

Steve's wife, Suzanne said that he is slowly improving and it is a long road ahead. They are trying to get him moved to a hospital in New Orleans. He is now breathing on his own, but still has a trach tube they are hoping to have removed soon. He can not speak or move much at all right now. He rarely opens his eyes.....difficult for him. She told us that he hears everything and was awake.
Suzanne told him that we were there to see him and asked him if he wanted to open his eyes....nothing. She then asked him if he wanted to wave to us.....he moved his fingers. :-)

It was tough to see him in this condition. Please everyone, keep Steve and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Will had mentioned to me quite some time back of Steve's medical situation, but have had no updates, so it's thankful I am that he is in some form of a recovery mode. He is a gentleman among gentlemen and his kindness and mild demeanor shines bright when you are with him. I'm beyond thankful to hear he is progressing & with all our prayers Steve will be in our company next year a Jay's meeting.

Good news everyone. Kevin found out last night through facebook that Steve is back home! It looks like he has been home since mid to late March. This is all we know at this time. Maybe Steve will drop in here, see this thread, and give us an update.

Thanks again Sophie, I had hopes to be updated at Will's meet, but the Virus took that off my schedule. So glad Steve is home & pray he returns to a good healthy life as he is truly a kind & considerate man, like your hubby Kevin. regards, Jerry

Fantastic news!!!
I got a message from him last night saying he had a way to go, but hearing from him is great news. Leave it to Sophie & Kevin to put something up there to make him respond. :D
