I'm nearly finished with a Robbins & Myers 1930's ? fan. It's Rust-Oleum appliance black with Rust-Oleum Gold blades. I have agonized on a wire color. I could go with your basic black rayon but I have thoughts Forest Green Rayon. Has anyone done anything other than black?

R & M? That looks more like a Westinghouse...  :wondering:
I don't think R & M used a plunger type Oscillator switch, that was strictly a Westinghouse Feature specifically on their Stamped Steel Fans.

I could be wrong though.

Definitely not a Westy oscillator. But, an odd one for an R&M!

Michael,

Honestly, if you've looked into the green as a color option, then you're probably going to be happier with green!

I use black often, but sometimes like to change things up! Brown is a personal favorite for color deviation. Green would be nice too! A lot of early fans had green wire, though not quite that shade. I think the olive green you chose is neutral enough you won't need to tie it in anywhere and it'll look nice!

And worst case scenario....you don't like it...swap it. :)

My $0.02

Ok, I was just wondering, because, I've never seen that kind of oscillator engagement knob on an R & M before, but I had seen it on Westinghouse fans before.
