Help sourcing speed controller wire  Rate Topic

Anybody encountered a speed controller like this ? Looking to find a source of wire so I can rewind the TWO rheostat cards.  Many thanks guys.

They used what's called Nichrome Wire on those speed coils and I'm not sure how readily available Nichrome is these days. 
you may have to substitute magnet wire (thin copper wire used to wind motors and speaker voice coils).

Steve,

Don't use copper wire as a replacement. That will not work.
Resistance wire coil is what you need. Measure your resistance over determined length and that will get you started in finding a replacement.

Resistance wire and coils are commonly produced with the e-cigarette craze. You might even try just buying wire and making your own spring coils. Would be a sub $10 experiment and should work. The spring design is solely to allow more length in a limited space.
Kanthal or Nichrome will work the same.
