I almost had this fan done a few weeks ago until I tested it and was making that bearing noise . So I took the motor a part and sent the front housing and rotor to Darryl Hudson. He but in a new bearing and replaced the rotor shaft. I put it back together today. Tested it and runs very quiet, smooth and no vibration! Great job as always Darryl! I'm so happy with the results. I also want to give a shout out to Pat Weeks for the trunnion washer and Kim Frank for the rotor washers. and most of all the guy who sold me the fan Ted Kaczar. Thanks again!    It's a 12" GE  Type AK Form D No. 204941 trunnion 5 speed. I painted it a patriot blue.

Classic beauty Vic! I love it. Can't get enough of those pancakes. Nice warm patina on the brass and the deep blue is stunning! Great job!

Thanks guys! I had originally started to paint it a royal blue. Needed another can of paint and saw the patriot blue  on the shelf which was darker. Liked that shade better so went with that.

Congratulations, Vic, it looks great! Loved the video, too!

Shows you how out-of-touch I am. I saw the thread for the first part of this project, and I created a link to it, because I didn't want to miss the rest of it. Reason being that I am working on a fan almost identical to yours, purchased from another forum member, and I didn't want to miss the conclusion. I kept checking my link, not even noticing your new thread (earth to Paula...!)

Anyway, your project has been an inspiration for me, and I thank you for taking the time to document it.

Paula

Thanks Paula and Richard, I'm by no means a perfectionist but I get the satisfaction of getting these over 100 year old fans up and running again.as close to original as I can.
