My son just took on an aviation related job and he has been obsessed with planes since he was a kid.   I thought it would be fun to restore a vintage fan for him that borrowed it's styling from aviation.    Any brands or models come to mind?

ouch!  well it does not need to look that much like a plane, just maybe a fan blade that resembles a propeller and such.

The Vornados have a jet engine look. They are cheaper at around $100 to $300 depending on the model.

Fresh'nd-Aire fans have airplane style blades, as do some other brands. You can also find airplane fans like the one Don Tener posted for around $1000. Sometimes (actually, a lot of the time) sellers on ebay way over-estimate the value of their fans, as in the case with that airplane fan on ebay.

Steven Dempsey's Air Castle is a great example of an airplane inspired fan in my opinion.

Some others include Roto Beam examples:

Nobody would buy it at Stan's so I gave it away. Now for some crazy reason I want another.
