First time poster to this forum. I own a 1955 GE Vortalex which I am overhauling including clean, lubricate and rewire. I should have taken photos of the wiring before disassembly! Now need you informed GE Vortalex guys/gals to confirm my memory for the correct hookup. The original cloth covered headwire was 2 wire while my replacement is 4 wire .. so just using the matching black and red wires. Keeping the original 3 speed rotary switch.

I believe the correct wiring is one power cord wire to center switch black, red speed coil wire to red head wire, remaining black head wire to second power cord lead. This sound right?

L1 to power-up switch , L2 to Motor 1, Motor 2 to switch speeds. I believe that is correct.
