I recently acquired a 16 in FM16V1 Vortalex in nice condition.  The plug in cord had been replaced but the head wire is original and the "sardine can " capacitor is still present. One of the 3 head wires is broken, but easily traceable.
I was going to just use the wiring diagram from Mr. McComas, but decided to draw out the diagram from this fan anyway.  I noticed there are some differences. mainly resistance between the points on the stator. Values are close but not the combination of wires to get the resistance A-C, A-B etc.  Also the attachment points for the capacitor are different. Wanted some information from people who know a lot more about the Vortalexes than I do. I don't think the internal wiring for this fan has been messed with other than the power cord. I just have an aversion to letting out the
"magic smoke" it is hard to put back. Any info is appreciated.
