My Wife's grandfather was a pilot and had several "airplane fans" from a company called the Scott Fan Company, Concord California.  I was wondering if anyone knows anything about them.  I saw a post on this forum from a few years ago where someone had a similar model and it seemed like it may have sold for $2,000.  We have 3 of them, with one photo attached of the fan and the ID plate with a US airmail design.  One of the others is twice as big, with dual fan blades.

I wouldn't be surprised if they weremade to order, with such a low serial number. Can you access the motor?

There are 4 screws that hold on a small plate on the top, right behind the propeller (fan blades) but there is not much to see, just the wiring coming in from the power cord, to the motor, and the power switch on the bottom of the plane's body.   It definitely looks like it was manufactured more than it was created in someone's garage.  Having said that, I can find nothing on Google about the Scott Fan company.  The other two fans we have also have low serial numbers, so I agree they were certainly not "mass produced".

Those are the photos that I found on my google search which led me to this site!  Not sure if the owner knows anything else about them or not.  I have pics of the other two we have which I will post shortly.
Not sure if these are worth much.  My father in law might finally get around to hanging them all up in one room unless they are worth enough to send a grandchild to college...

I just watched this one sell; it went for $150.
