Cant' figure out how to remove the on off switch from the cast iron base. Help!!

I don't know if the 3-speed Vader switches come off the same way as the one-speeds, but here's a picture of a 3-speed switch I was able to take apart.

You can see the little dent in the bottom of the knob on the switch above. I think there are two little notches like that on both sides of the switch that hook onto the bumps on the two brass prongs sticking up around the brass pole. I was able to take my 3-speed switch apart just by pulling the knob off. I think I might've pried the little brass prongs up a little bit from the inside of the base, but it was a while back so I can't say for sure.

Noah you were spot on, I was able to remove the knob from the switch without any problems.  Thanks so much.
