So, what have I got here - - looks like an earlier cage on a 1901 stick pancake, trying to get a clear shot of the tag sent, the 1900 Pancake I had had this same cage.I like the open ring personally.![]() Attached Image (viewed 211 times): |

The guard is an earlyl 1899 one. What is strange is how the switch knob sticks out so far on that bare shaft. Could be that the switch is a 1902 model which had a longer shaft to accomodate the pointer on the 1902 models. |

Wonder if a trade could be done on the cage, the 1901 was a pinned version, correct? |

Correct, and the method of attaching the badge was different; is was held on with a stud and nut with solder. |

This cage is 1900, for certain (3/16" back ring). The 1899 both rings are 1/8" Dia. brass. |
