Those have a crinkle finish & 2 bearings as apposed to the standard single bearing, they often have tags where they were used - - you may want to replace the capacitor with a modern solid state one as below, also a good time to put new felt on the base![]() ![]() ![]() |

FYI - The 77 series of Emerson fans featured overlapping blades and were a residential model. The Government spec Emersons were 79 series, which didn't have the overlapping blade design. As mentioned these are dual bearing motors. I had a 79648-AP-G, which was a government model and it was a great running fan. Video of it - |

I saw one of these fans at a local antique store last year but didn't get it because they wanted over $100 for it... ![]() Last edited on Fri Dec 11th, 2020 04:21 am by Levi Mevis |

Great Fan , Great runners I will urge you to consider , removing the old sardine can capacitor , replace with new 1.5 to 1.75uf . |

I replace the original oil filled capacitor with a Mylar or polyester film capacitor... 12" fan has 1.7 and I replace with 1.5 uf. Better efficiency at higher house voltages 120 VAC plus. 16" fan has 2.7 and I replace with 2.5 uf. Better efficiency at higher house voltages 120 VAC plus. I buy capacitors rated at 400 VAC or higher. These values have been tested and verified to increase efficiency with tachometers an watt meters. ![]() ![]() http://www.ebay.com/itm/CBB61-450V-1-5UF-Terminal-Ceiling-Fan-Motor-Running-Rectangle-Capacitor-2-wires/272759497924?hash=item3f81bba4c4:g:3kQAAOSwALtaV39w http://www.ebay.com/itm/CBB61-450V-2-5uf-2-wires-50-60Hz-Capacitor-Terminal-Ceiling-Fan-Motor-UL-Listed/264974575312?hash=item3db1b726d0:g:x9QAAOSwFNFf1UUW Happy Fanning! |
