I am restoring my 8" Emerson 14644 and I have some questions about the cage. I have gotten it pretty well straighten up but I noticed some S wires loose behind the badge, Looks like the badge may be filled with led or something. Could use some help. Maybe some one can tell me how this badge is constructed before I mess it up.![]() ![]() ![]()

Bobby, the wires were laid into a mold and lead poured around them. If you remove the badge will see the mold pattern underneath. You can slightly pull the wire from badge and epoxy while pushing back into place and let set.

Bobby,I solder them back in. I use liquid flux and heat only the spoke. I'm using 5% silver bearing solder but other kinds would work, I think. Cheers, Bill

Thanks Chris and Bill, Now I know what I am dealing with and have some options. The cage was bent up pretty bad but it straightened up good with no breaks. Heavy cage for little fan, back ring is 5/32.
