It's interesting the design of the first set of pictures, the motor is mounted in the center and the base extended. Later, it's offset. Bill pointed out this would make it oscillate easier because of back weighting but it looks like it also was to bring the motor, and therefor cage, closer to the base to simplify it and allow for maybe 360 degree oscillation. Both Weyant and Eck had a head wire prior to Weyant getting the jump on the 360 degree wind principle oscillation for the 03 season.

The R&M pop is a Weyant/Eck ripoff. Eck's pop, and Weyant's offset motor brushed base column 360 revolver introduced 03.

That fan has the head wire going into a grommet on the lower back but right above it a pair of external contacts, huh?
