Trick to remove badge rivets  Rate Topic

It’s a little difficult to get the pins out that hold motor tags to the case. So, I ground the tip flat on an old automatic center-punch. And, I made the tip more cylindrical so it would fit down inside the rivet hole. Place the punch on the inside of the rivet, press until it clucks, and the rivet comes out.

I did a similar thing with a bent drift punch.  I was going to throw it out because it got bent, but the bend actually helps to align with the hole inside the motor housing.
