Patina only, no crud (dirt).  Corrosion to a large degree.   Blade has never been polishted of stripped, to you see the runs in the original lacquer all going the same way by the rivets?   That was from hanging the blade and the wet lacquer ran some before hardening.  Also see a thin (about 3/32" line) along the leading edge of the blade from the same lacquer excess.   Both are good signs to me because it proves that the blade still has the original finish and has not been polished.

Does it have an intact kidney gearbox in back?  If so, who cares about the crud or patina.  :D

I’d say it’s original, dirt and all.. I have both restored and original.
A great patina should put no doubt in anyone’s mind to leave it alone.. My wife does not agree with this line of thinking ...she feels every fan should be fully restored..  she says all you have to do is look at an old wooden boat and ask yourself do you want it restored or left the way it is...

Yummy, my address is in the directory. Pretend your Santa Clause and I am the deprived kid waiting for a kidney donor.  :D
