must be offset drive since the motor is below the blade?

It has a whimpy shaded pole motor.

Design is cool but as you say the construction is a little bit on the weak side. Is this a pre-50?

I think that it uses a friction wheel to drive the blade or at least I have some recollection of someone telling me that.:idea

I used to have one... Sold it. Never should have. There's a little wimpy 2 pole motor that drives the blade via a friction wheel. The motor also has a little 2 blade cooling fan. If you ever want to get rid of it George, let me know!!!
