Hello all, I am new to they forum I could not resist this little fan.

I started cleaning and it has issues! Paper plug in the brush chamber.

I have a lot to learn. My 1st issue when I spin the motor it does not oscillate it appears the gear is worn out.

Can any one suggest a fix or gear source? 2nd issue missing oscillator arm. 3rd  Was wired directly to stater or head wires. By passing the switch at the base.  It has a few more issues but many are answered on this forum. Thanks for any advice you can give this old newbie !

Dan,  I restored a RM 3600 this summer and I can answer your questions, if you would like?I have completed 5 RM from this era and in this era I’ve never seen a gearbox failure. True in fans from the 1930’s but not these 1918~1922 era. Send me a private message and I will share my contact information with you....
This Forum can be challenging from time to time, so I prefer alternate forms of communication!
Regards,

Malcolm. MacGregor

Thank you all for your replies, I think I failed to fully appreciate the RPM reduction provided. I am going to clean, grease, wire and reassemble and then see what I have.  I will have to replace or make an oscillating arm.  Malcolm MacGregor  ...I will pm  Thank you
