Just picked this up today at Hippy Tom's
Thought it was a fan....Russ Huber immediately knew it was a Hat polisher

Could be made into fan I guess

I traded Fred Martinsen for this back when I first started collecting. He had a six wing 16" Peerless blade on it with a brass open ring cage. It was beautiful. I loved it but thought it was original. Once I found out it was not I got rid of it. Always wished I had not. It was painted beautifully and had a few pin stripes. I say do it. The 6 wing blade was out of a vent fan if I remember....

Perhaps I should start looking for a 16" 6 blade

To bad so sad. There was a Peerless  6 wing 16" ventilator on Craigslist in Sparta, WI. for months a few months ago.

If you now own the the Peerless hat cleaner, flop a blade on it and if you own a digital read out RPM strobe, clock the blade speed. If it has a 3 speed switch it is more than likely a 4 pole. If it is a 4 pole motor with a max. speed of roughly 1550 RPM, you want a shallow pitch 6 wing blade.  :D

That's a teens motor.
