ILGWIND switch  Rate Topic

i have a ILGWIND fan model 272
its stuck on low 

any ideas?

I really don't know anything else except a bad switch that could be causing your fan to stay in low  speed unless someone hardwired the motor to stay on in low speed only all the time, which would of bypassed the switch all together.

Just replace with a modern ON-OFF-ON Toggle Switch (off in the middle and on is either up or down), there are several posts on here about that.

Just Search the forum for "Replacing 2-speed Levolier Switches".

2 capacitors shouldn't make any difference in how its wired. They all wire up the same way regardless of how many capacitors they have. Talk to either Andrew Block or Lane Shirey both of them have written articles on here in the past about replacing the old Levolier 2 speed switches on these old Pedestal Fans, and Andrew Block is the Resident Ilg expert so he might know about how the IlgWind pedestals are wired up and how to wire a modern Toggle switch to it.
