I found this interesting fan at an Estate Sale recently. It is an oscillating box fan. The oscillation is the pivoting of the louvres on front of the fan. It is controlled by a mechanism in the upper left corner.
Has anyone ever seen one of these? When were they made? Did other companies also make oscillating box fans?

That's pretty cool. That's the newest oscillating box fan I've seen. Lasko made one, but it was older than your fan. A few other fans made guards that diverted the air in various directions, but there were only a few with the oscillating mechanism. Nice find!

THE STYLE OF THE HANDLE AND THE KNOB ETC DSAYS EARLY 70S, THERE WAS A LATER EDITION IN THE EARLY 802 UNDER THE SISTER EDISON BRAND WITH SMOKE BLADES AND PLASTIC REAR GRILLE
FRIGID ALSO MADE AN OSCILLATING LOUVER BOX FAN IN THE MID 60S AND I HAD ONE ALONG WITH SEVERAL OF THE 1958-LATER LASKO "EXECUTIVE" ;MODELS AND THEY ALL WEIGHED A TON

I PARTED WITH THEMM ALL OVER WEIGHT

GREAT FIND!

Thanks Tom, for sure the all metal ones have a great look and enjoy a higher value, but it's undeniable the older we get the plastic models are easier to move around. I was surprised the condition of my fan's plastic components are as nice as they were. It was clear this unit did not spend much time in a window absorbing sunlight.
