Seems slow, but may be because it is SO QUIET.

Your fan with the gray color is from the late 1950s and early 1960s.

The Vortalex Fans of the 12", 16" and 24" varieties used PSC motors in the first generation models (1938-1942) and then the second generation models(1946-1949) the 16" and 24" models were the only ones that used the PSC motors (12" models went to shaded pole motors by this point in time) and then third generation models (1950-1955) they dropped the 24" pedestal by the end of this generation and just had the 16" as only using the PSC motor, and the 4th generation models (1956-1963) which was the last generation for the Vortalexes they got rid of the PSC motor all together so that even the 16" models even had shaded pole motors by that point.

I'm not sure speed wise if those speeds are correct for a 16" shaded pole motor or not, but I know that most 16" fans I've ever had usually run slower than a 12" would because the 16" blades weigh more than your 12" blades do and so there is more torque required to rotate a heavy cast aluminum blade like the ones on the Vortalexes compared to say a stamped aluminum blade like what your average dimestore fan from the time period had (like your Bersteds for example).
