I know that some of you out there have at least a few 1950s General Electric fans, especially those with that rubber center gasket thing holding the blades on the motor shaft.  Those obviously are very common with General Electric hassock fans, those dual motor window fans, and also most desk fans as well.  I should know, I as well have experienced it where I turn on the fan and the blades wobble and slip slide around making those rubber squeaky sounds.  Well as it appears, when I put some Elmer's School Glue in the space between the rubber gasket and the blade and/or the motor shaft, it usually stops the squeaking and sliding.  It actually even seems to like almost impregnate the rubber and act like extra rubber having been put in, because it really works, especially if the gasket is not really badly worn to where there's more than a milimeter of full length play.

THAT IS GOOD AS THOSE RUBBER MOUNTS ARE PROBLEMATIC AND YOU HATE TO TRY TO REMOVE A BLADE FOR SERVICING... ORIGINALLY IN THE REPLACEMENT HUB KITS I BOUGHT N.O.S THERE WAS AN ADHESIVE GE USED OF COURSE NO LONGER AVAILABLE
THIS HUB ALSO IS ON THE "TV SET" 10" FANS AND THE 12 AND 14" 5 WING BLADED OSCILLATOR AND MINI BOX FAN

THANKS FOR THE TIP!
