Wow , spring is crankin' after a late Ozark freeze last week and fan meets are everywhere. Hickory NC next weekend then North Jersey Breezin' 3 weeks later and the week after that the Ozarks regional "PigPickin' " for the 25th time in a row.  Got a big pile of lumber / brush for a bonfire again Friday night weather permitting. Saturday lunch at the barn  at around 11:30 A.M.. Lots of old fans seeking new homes. Tom Newcity is bringing a truckload over here and to help Pat Daggs pull her life back together after losing Jim ( Yer Eddidor R.I.P.)  we will auction off 120 +/- fans that were Jim's collection. Working on details that will allow AFCA members who cannot be here but would like to own one of Jim's fans ,to be able to bid on facebook live and pay thru paypal then I will ship the fan (s) to you.  Details and hopefully pictures of the fans forth coming here or thru facebook within the next few weeks.   Let us know if U R gonna be here and if U plan to eat lunch with us on Saturday so we'll have an idea how big to prepare. Message or email me , or Paul at his shop.  Happy Fanning , the hunt is on. :dude:

This would have never been a 25th anniversary meet had then pres. of AFCA Steve Cunningham ( as a young man ) not twisted my arm real tight ,  in late 1996 ,  about hosting a regional meet with the AFCA.    The seeds that you sow...........................

Geoff,
Much to my disappointment I will be unable to attend due to family matters.  I have two teenage granddaughters both graduating that weekend on two separate nights.  Hopefully I will be able to attend your fall event

Thanks, Jerry

As I recall my arm twisting amounted to a request. We met Geoff in 1990, and have been friends ever since. That is one benefit of the AFCA.

Doc, looking forward to being able to view Jim Daggs fans online before the Silver Anniversary edition of Pig Pickin' is upon us.  Participating remotely in the sale can't match the experience of being there but if members can participate remotely it should be a greater benefit to Pat.

By the way, congratulations AND many thanks to you, Doc, for the wonderful Pig Pickin' legacy.

Some thoughts on the Daggs fans.   If members could study pictures with enough advanced time, they might be able to arrange for transportation from friends who are in attendance.   Or ....... I live very close to I-80 in central Iowa and would be happy to receive fans and hold them for buyers who may often travel along I-80. (Bill F. are you game?)   All this may take time to think about and plan for.   Ackley regional attendees will remember what good fans Jim had and the AFCA could sure help out Pat here.

I am working on cataloging and photographing all 120 of those fans and they will begin to show up this week here and on facebook. The volume is such that we may have  a 40 fan auction Friday evening before we light the bonfire and then the majority of them Saturday afternoon after lunch. There are 6-7 pedestal fans that I'm  not going to be able to ship so if they are sold online , the buyer will have to have transportation arranged , or eventually come by and pick them up.  :D.                                  Cheers / Blessings to all , happy fan collector
