Finished the Fan but it is making a noise. the shaft turns easy and no sign of it making noise when its turned by hand but when it runs if it goes too far back in the bearings it stalls and hums or when pulled out it runs but makes noise. Is this just because the fan needs to have the blade on to keep it from going inside too far? The rubber is really worn is there another way to attach the blade? I was thinking of drilling and tapping for a set screw. Thanks for any guidance  https://youtu.be/27A97dwyf0k

Vacuum caps, for automotive use, have been used as substitutes for the originals. Your local parts store should stock different sizes.
