I have that exact fan. I see then periodically. Probably see the non oscillator more often the the oscillator. Look in the switch slot before plugging it in.  The contacts are mounted to a pressed fiber material that can disintegrate over time and will get your attention. Don't ask me how I know this bit of information. I remade the pieces using blank circuit board material. The Starite badge is decent looking, to bad yours is missing.

This badge is shown on a smaller fan, but they look the same in all sizes of these octagonal Fitzgeralds. The badge pictures is what one looked like new from the factory, on a new old stock, still in the box fan. :

brass plated steel blades - paper label came off, had a "Star Rite" label underneath!!The base is riveted on -I had to drill them out to fix power cord
