I have this 8" Rocket fan and while I do enjoy it...the base just does not look right.  Both the 12" and 8" have the same size base.  So today, I will be CADing up a new 8" base from blueprint I found here and online and will be printing it out.  This is what I do for fun...it is relaxing for me.

Pictures of the fans are not mine...too lazy to take pictures.

Got it as close as possible to the blueprint.  Will get it printed and cast in Bronze.  I've always like the look of the base in the ad much better than the 12" base.

The piece is finally being shipped to me. This has been a long time coming on my list of things to do. Ever since I saw the nickled plated Fitzgerald rocket fan in the magazine...I always imagine owning it. After getting the 12 inch blade with the Torrington blade, I was estatic to hunt down the 8 inch. When it got here...something was off. The base looked off as if though the company ran out of time and just slapped on a 12 inch base and sealed off the switch for unknown reasons? Then I saw a blueprint and it looked way better on the 8 inch. When the piece arrives, I will sand, prime and make the mold. Get it casted in bronze and convert the 8 inch and one of my 12 inch non-Torrington blade.

Piece will needed to be sanded/rounded before making the mold. The proportion looks about right.

Hey Louis , I would like dibs on the 2 old bases that you replace if you aren't planning to keep them. Cheers, Geoff

Will be making the mold for the base, holler if you want some as this is a minor project and a one time casting.

Base is almost done.  Will be attaching this thing to the base to make it a rocket fan.  And a new variable blade propeller as well.
