Stater seems to have 4 wires and the insulation was so bad its hard to tell what is what. Anyone have any ideas or help as to how to proceed so I don't screw this up? Seems like there is a steel panel I may be able to take out and get access to the wires. But I am not sure.

I cleaned out the channel and it seems the 4 wires went to two wires from the windings. So if anyone can help with a wiring schematics I would appreciate it. The only wires cut that were left on were the incoming line in.
Thanks for any help

I have this two wire diagram from this site someone sent to me for a two wire AOU. But why the four wires or it seems like four wires to my two wires on the head stater? Maybe someone ran all three speed wires up to the head. But I don't see why you would do that.
