My men's 'drinking club with a singing problem' recently updated the clubhouse ventilating system because of Covid. I 'trash picked' the old ILG 243, but did not get the two-speed switch. It had been wired with an ordinary 110v on-off switch and a toggle switch for speed control. It had not been used in years because folks didn't know how to get it to run. I figured it out about 20 years ago when I was the techie for the club but I'd have to start it by spinning the blade with a pencil stuck through the fan guard. No techie after me ever used it, even with my instruction. I expected to find that the start contacts in the motor housing were dirty, an easy fix.
The fan spins easily, now that I turned it by hand. It's possible that the bearings simply need lubrication and that there's nothing else wrong with the motor.
But! I need a wiring diagram to begin.
