I and others operate various circa 1915 ceiling fans and want to know if a motor control can be utilized to slow the fan rotation down? Can a motor control be utilized with them? If so, please provide a source and make and model of them !

Hi John
I run a number of midteens ceiling fans and earlier (Dayton, Tuerk, Robbins and Myers, and Jandus) on this rheostat: Model KBWC-16K (UR) Variable Speed Fan Control, sold by KB Electronics through Amazon. We have 2 mid-1920's Hunter on one. I have used these for years with absolutely no problems.

I just saw they were unavailable but this is another option ( 5-amp capacity) for a single fan
Fantech WC 15 Speed Control with On-Off Switch, 115V, 5 Amp

I can vouch for those KB speed controllers. Have one on my Victor ceiling fan and another on my Emerson Long Nose. Great controllers!
